About:

Some of you out there, probably mostly ladies, may actually be wondering a little more about the who, in addition to the what & where.  So in an effort to cater to the masses, here goes…

I was born & raised in upstate NY; spending my summers on the Canadian border drinking the good stuff (higher octane beer) before micro-breweries became big here in the states. This also may have been due to the lower drinking age in Canada!

I can honestly say as an adolescent I couldn’t stand the taste of beer.  Although the ol’ man was always willing ‘to give me a sip of his’, that was really all I wanted anyways.  I was always wondering why they all tasted the same; like shit!  First time I drank a full beer & first time I got snockered  was actually my high school graduation.  Yep, a whole new experience…that night and the next morning as well.

Some may say I was a late bloomer, but this quickly changed as I had a 2-yr tour of duty @ Coby.  A little college town where drinking large quantities of cheap beer was the only thing to do (besides studying of course).  The next four years found me @ ESF, studying a real major & some “real” brews!

It wasn’t till I moved to the left coast that I found Jesus micro-brews!  Yep, true craftsmanship & the people to appreciate it.

So after having several successful careers (okay, 1 career & 2 jobs), I was laid off for the 1st time.  I spent several weeks doing nothing…& a couple of days actually looking for the next thing.  A dream career arrived @ my door (i.e. inbox).  After a 2 month hiring process, I was informed that due to the past fiscal year’s financial performance they would not be bringing on additional personnel at this point.

I had 2 choices; either I could dive back into the job hunt after the wind was torn from my sails or I could travel around the country blowing my savings, drinking good beer, seeing amazing places, & meeting great people!

Thanks:

  • I would like to thank my father.  His love of a good beer & amazing beer can collection have inspired me to taste the diverse selection of adult beverages.
  • My mother who gave me a home brew kit for my 21st & supported me in taking on this endeavor.
  • My sisters, who many a nights have helped me get home…& also ensured my parents knew of my previous night’s escapades.
